3-axle low-bed and a 1-axle dolly for Metz Bagger & Transporte
A 3-axle low-bed featuring panther® technology and a 1-axle dolly are going into service at Metz Bagger & Transporte. This combination of heavy-duty equipment is marking DOLL®’s first addition to the fleet operated by the company, a family-run outfit based in Germany’s Upper Palatinate region.
Owner Christian Metz needed equipment that would be up to the job of transporting his company’s large-scale excavators – whose dead weight reaches as much as 36 t – with a German long-term certificate of exemption for such vehicles. Featuring a basic length of 6500 mm and the option of extending by a further 4500 mm, the low-bed is able to accommodate this – and the dolly is capable of transporting some 44 t. What’s more, the low-bed’s width of 2750 mm and folding loading surface extensions that reach 3200 mm are ideal for accommodating excavators in this weight class.
The panther® axle technology features a steering angle of up to 55°, lending the equipment outstanding manoeuvrability even on construction sites where space is at a premium. Another bonus comes in the form of the built-in lift axles, which save fuel on empty trips and are kind to tyres. The panther® technology also works in combination with the computer-assisted DOLL tronic® CAN bus system for an operating experience that delivers the ultimate in convenience, while driving level adjustments, steering and automatic track adjustment can be initiated easily from the driver’s cab via remote control.
