DOLL gets off to a flying start in France

With the founding of DOLL France SAS, DOLL Fahrzeugbau GmbH is reinforcing its current growth trajectory. French trade professionals were introduced to the new subsidiary for the first time at the “Forexpo” trade fair in Mimizan.

The “Forexpo” trade fair in Mimizan was the perfect occasion for the newly founded DOLL France SAS to make its first appearance together with its partner Cornut. “We were very happy with the response and the concrete enquiries we received,” says Daniel Zlatoper, Managing Director of DOLL France, summing up the three-day trade fair which took place at the end of September. “The fact that there haven’t been any trade fairs in so long means that there is even more interest in seeing the exhibits up close. And then there are the long delivery times from the lorry manufacturers – easily a year or more at the moment. Which means that wood transporters are starting to look for their ideal superstructures at an even earlier stage.”

When it comes to wood transport solutions, French customers will be spoilt for choice: the entire wood transport portfolio of the long-standing manufacturer (founded in 1878) will be available from DOLL France SAS – while taking account, of course, of the country-specific conditions, from the local types of wood to the specific topography and the national legislation with a total weight of up to 57 tons on six axles. Practical examples from DOLL®’s “French range” include three-axle trailers, double-row ball-bearing turntables for higher weights, the round stakes popular in France, carriage supports for the crane or plug-in steel guide tubes as a tool for loading and unloading.

Comprehensive service

At the Forexpo trade fair, DOLL France presented a 6-axle short timber combination with a MAN TGS 6x4 and a twin-tyre 3-axle trailer from the recently overhauled A3K series. DOLL® also exhibited a telescopic, hydraulically steered semi-trailer from the LOGO 22 series for wood lengths from 2 to 22 metres. “Our aim is to establish comprehensive service across France, both with our own team and in cooperation with our growing network of dealers, bodybuilding partners and workshops,” explains Daniel Zlatoper. “One of our first contractual partners, who we exhibited with at Forexpo, is Cornut from Montfaucon-en-Velay in the Massif Central. Others will follow.” Alongside sales and service for trailers and semi-trailers, tailored solutions are high on the agenda. These are based on prefabricated assembly kits from DOLL®, which are customised according to the customer’s specifications in the partners’ vehicle construction departments.

Extensive portfolio

DOLL® has always offered an extensive portfolio of wood transport solutions. This includes superstructures, trailers and semi-trailers for short or long timber as well as combination vehicles for both types of wood. The short timber trailers are available in platform and bolster designs for wood lengths of two to six metres. The common denominator is a modular construction principle which ensures consistently high production quality. This means that the vehicles can be adapted not only to various wood lengths, but also to different country-specific legislation and logistics needs. Furthermore, there is an extensive range of accessories available, from work lamps to lashing equipment and everything in between. The various series are manufactured at the headquarters in Oppenau, Germany, and at the DOLL® Sachsen GmbH site in Mildenau, which opened in 2009. The Mildenau site, which is situated in the foothills of the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) in Saxony, is currently being expanded into a centre of excellence for all types of timber transport vehicle.
