Double telescopic semi-trailer for Hofer

Hofer, based in Lower Bavaria, is extending its fleet with a 4-axle DOLL panther® semi-trailer S4E-TS18. The latest new addition to a fleet of around a dozen DOLL® vehicles boasts a multitude of ingenious detailed solutions.

The key feature is the panther® chassis technology with split axles that are positively steered hydraulically. Josef Hofer has already been a fan of these for many years due to their driving height and manoeuvrability. The company specialises in transporting prefabricated concrete parts and is equipped for particularly long pieces with the new DOLL panther®. The 9 m low-bed is double telescopic and can be extended to nearly 22 m. Pocket rails in the low-bed make it possible to install stakes in a flexible manner so that loads can be secured so that they fit tightly.

Versatile, lightweight and robust

The pneumatic frame lock with flat design and platforms on the intermediate table that can be removed at the sides ensure clearance and free load-through options next to the frame. The pre-stressed frame itself boasts a high level of stiffness and strength while maintaining a low dead weight – which, in turn, allows particularly high loads of over 51 tons. An integrated crossbeam with an installation to move the stakes ensures that loads such as concrete girders and laminated beams can also be secured in the semi-trailer platform. In addition, cones in the outer frame of the gooseneck mean that cross braces can be installed quickly and easily. All accessible surfaces have been sanded to ensure maximum operational safety.

The possibilities with long material have not yet been exhausted by any means: when fitted with outriggers and aluminium loading ramps, it is also possible to transport a huge range of construction machinery with the 4-axle panther®.
