First DOLL trailer combination for Gertzen

Gertzen Krane und Transporte GmbH & Co. KG is adding another special vehicle to its machinery fleet for the purposes of transporting long materials and concrete parts. DOLL^® has supplied the company with a 2-axle dolly and a VARIO 4-axle trailer.

In addition to an extensive load-securing package consisting of stakes in different lengths, tension chains and plug-in inclined braces, the combination features special bolsters for accommodating loads of up to 48 t. The bolsters boast a high degree of freedom, both in the tilting and rotating range. The turning angle of the bolsters is 85°, lending the trailer almost unrestricted manoeuvrability.

Thanks to the precise hydraulic oversteering via radio and the exact swivelling bolster steering, bends, roundabouts and tight construction site entrances can be negotiated with ease. The combinations have been know for their outstanding directional stability for decades, particularly over long distances and at high speeds on the motorway. DOLL^® trailers are generally available with three, four or five axles, and it is possible to achieve load heights of 1380 to 1620 mm when the vehicle is loaded, depending on the type of tyres selected.

What makes this transport equipment particularly useful for Gertzen’s needs is the fact that the vehicles are already prepared for retrofitting the DOLL^® system for wind vane transportation, which makes it possible to move wind vanes measuring up to 120 m in length and 35 t in overall weight with a lifting adapter and sliding TIP frame. Even after the system has been retrofitted, however, a removable bolster attachment will ensure that Gertzen is able to remain flexible and keep transporting long materials as required. This will allow the heavy load expert to use its trailer combination as effectively as possible for its needs.
