Transport company Gregor Wurm increases its second mainstay with DOLL panther

By commissioning a DOLL panther® low-bed T2E-S3LZ18, transport company Gregor Wurm is extending its special and heavy transport business area. The haulier, which has primarily focussed on timber transport up to now, is making use of the high levels of flexibility here. In close cooperation with the customer, the DOLL panther® has been equipped to be multifunctional, whether this be for loading with wheeled or tracked vehicles or for holding containers of all sizes from 20 to 40 feet. In every case, load weights of over 28 tons are possible.

Bespoke according to customer requirements

The 2-axle low-bed trailer is equipped with a retractable gooseneck. All of its functions can be operated either using keypads on the frame or conveniently with a remote control. The low-bed platform is constantly being adapted to the customer’s requirements. The pre-stressed central box frame can be extended by a total of 3500 mm in small increments – also adapted specially to the container dimensions. In conjunction with this, the optional support frame and the rear section platform are fitted with ISO container locks.

DOLL® has been able to implement a particularly low loading height at the lowered side of the low-bed: just approx. 200 mm with 80 mm ground clearance. As a result, Wurm is ideally prepared for transporting heavier and heavier but, most importantly, larger forestry machinery in future. Very large loads from corresponding wheel or crawler chassis have also been considered. The load-surface side extensions (2 x 225 mm) have insertable steel planks. In addition, an integrated and movable intermediate table with mounting claws for aluminium rails makes it possible to extend the loading surface, which can be driven over, to around 10 m.

At the very core of the rear section is a DOLL panther® chassis with split 12-ton axles with hydraulic suspension and steering, as well as independent wheel suspension. For safe access during loading and unloading, the low-bed and chassis surfaces have been sanded. What’s more, Gregor Wurm has left nothing to chance when it comes to ease of use and operational control – the intelligent DOLL connect® trailer management system is also included in the extensive equipment list.
